Thanks for visiting Rough Around the Edges! I am James Bowe and I am the proud owner of the company. My journey of becoming a woodworker began shortly after retiring from the United States Army in 2013. 

It began with a request from my mother to build a bench for her and my father, so they could sit out on the porch and listen to ball games. Not long after that, it was a request for a stand, a chair, a table, and a bench. It didn't take long for me to realize I was on to something. What starting out as a hobby has now turned into something much bigger.  

Why do I do what I do, because I like to see the difference I make in others live’s. I like to see the smiles on their faces when they pick up their item. I like reading the feedback I get when someone receives a gift, whether expected or unexpected. I like to think I am making a difference in what I do and to those around me.
